Who can use EventFinder?
There isn’t a hard and fast rule as to who can use EventFinder but if you follow the following guidelines, you will be on the right tracks.
What we want to see on EventFinder
You are a business or organisation that arranges events or sports classes.
Grey Areas
We want to see local pubs and clubs that have events such as discos, bingo, local bands, a weekly quiz. We don’t want to see adverts for your happy hour.
We want to see local pubs and restaurants that have wine tasting or are holding one-off events such as a charity dinner. We don’t want to see adverts for steak nights.
What we want to avoid
We want to avoid clubs and classes that are academic or education-based such as Maths, English or foreign language classes.
Unsure if you should advertise on EventFinder
If you are unsure whether you should be advertising on EventFinder then drop the team a message here.
Is EventFinder free?
Yes, EventFinder is free for both people looking for events and business to advertise their events.
With regards to how we will keep the site running and who pays for all this - EventFinder is an open book and our cards are on the table as our purpose is to create an amazing website for you.
For transparency, in the future we will be looking to offer you an opportunity to pay for additional services such as placement advertising. If you do not require those services, then you will be able to continue using EventFinder to advertise your events for free.
How do I list events?
How do I add specific days of the week?
As the website is new, we are currently working through new features. One of them is to be able to simply select a specific weekend or weekday of each month i.e the first Saturday of each month.
So, if you are a business that holds events on a reoccurring weekend or day of every month, follow these steps. Let's use adding the first weekend of every month as an example.
- Where the option states “occurs”, select “every”
- Where is states “day” select the day that you want it to occur on i.e. a Saturday.
- Set a date for as far in advance as you want. Let’s assume you want to do it for a year so, for 12 occasions. Set the date then hit “generate dates”
- You will now have the next 52 Saturdays. You can now remove the Saturdays that you don’t want, leaving the first Saturday of each month.
😁 Job done!
How do I add recurring days of the week?
Let's use adding a class on a Monday, a Thursday and a Saturday that are all in the same location:
- Where the option states “occurs”, select “every”, then add Mondays and the times you are open Then hit “generate dates”,
- Then change the day to Thursday and hit “generate dates” again and do the same For Saturday.
- Only add a month's worth at a time as you can only ever add a total of 50 days at once.
What if I am already advertising through another events website?
No problem. EventFinder is free so add your event to Event Finder as well as any other site that you wish to advertise with.
What if I am selling my tickets through another events website?
Just add the link of that ticket website into the event schedule details. Try and make your link take people straight to the ticket page for your own event, rather than the ticket website's homepage.
How do I see how many people have viewed my event?
There's a counter at the bottom of the event page.
