The Great Skipton Santa Fun Run is a charity run and walk organised by The Rotary Club of Skipton Craven, and supported by Skipton Town Council, which normally takes place on the last Sunday in November, and is a precursor to the Christmas Lights switch on later on in the day In addition to many of the runners’ own charities, the main beneficiaries are Sue Ryder Manorlands, Marie Curie Bradford, local Skipton charities and other Rotary charities The run follows a 5km course around Skipton, through Aireville Park and Skipton Woods. A shorter (3km) walkers and wheelchair friendly route, again starting on the High Street, takes in a circuit of Aireville Park. Click here for further information about the Routes Individuals aged 6 yrs and over and of any ability can take part. Families and members of community groups are encouraged to enter teams to run as a group and raise sponsorship money The Entry Fee is £22 for adults (£25 on the day) and £10 for children up to the age of 16, and includes a Santa T-shirt to run in and a commemorative medal for all finishers Local businesses are encouraged to enter a team or are invited to sponsor the event Many local Charities, organisations and schools use the event to raise money for their own charities and support the event through sponsorship The first 10 charities, schools, organisations or amateur clubs that enter a team of 25 or more, will receive a £250 incentive for their organisation.
