Welcome to the Ilkley T5s Rugby Tournament! As the premier adult tag rugby event in LS29, the Ilkley T5s is more than just a rugby tournament—it’s a celebration of family fun, community spirit, and incredible rugby talent, all in support of a fantastic cause. The event helps improve the lives of underprivileged, disadvantaged, and disabled children across Yorkshire by providing them with free holidays. Founded in 2024, the tournament concept began as a playful challenge for the junior coaches of Ilkley Rugby Club to prove they still had what it takes—and to show their young players how not to play! What started with a handful of coaches then grew into a competitive yet friendly event with over 100 participants of all skill levels. In its inaugural year, the tournament raised over £5,000 to support its mission of “rugby4respite.” Now in its second year, the 2025 tournament promises to be even bigger and better! Whether you once competed at an Elite level or are just here for Social fun, mark your calendars for 27th April 2025. It’s time to choose your squad and your strategy! Prizes include shiny trophies and those all-important bragging rights, but watch out for the dreaded wooden spoon. Don't worry though—every player walks away with a t-shirt and goody bag. While the competition heats up on the field with fast-paced 5-a-side tag rugby (adapted from the RFU’s U8 laws), there’s plenty of fun off the field too. With a village fair atmosphere and the club’s fabulous clubhouse providing food and drinks, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Match format: 5-a-side games with squads of up to 8 players 5-minute straight-through games, or 5-minute halves for the finals A group stage followed by knockout rounds to crown the ultimate champions
