Yoga Nidra - The Art of Yogic Sleep
Details
Yoga Nidra is a very deep relaxation which can help you to connect more deeply with your inner knowing and your capacity for rejuvenating stillness. During the practice you will rest, supported by pillows or cushions, under a blanket, in as much comfort as possible while you journey inward. In Yoga Nidra you function on the level of listening and of feeling as you are guided in a journey deep within. When you return to the room you will feel deeply relaxed yet refreshed. During this session we will take a short breathing practice to settle our minds, then enliven and open the energy channels of the body with some do-in, then sink deeply into the practice of Yoga Nidra with a journey into our inner awareness. We will allow the body to have full rest and invite the mind into a higher state of consciousness, opening up to universal oneness, and our innate power to heal from within. Yoga Nidra is often referred to as the art of yogic sleep and can be as restorative for body and mind as between 4 and 6 hours of normal sleep. It can be a real game changer for people who suffer with sleep disturbances, an overactive mind, and those who are constantly on the go. This is a space where you can stop all the doing and simply be. For your comfort please bring along your favourite blanket and a cushion to rest your head upon, as most of the session will be spent in stillness. You may also wish to bring an eye mask to allow yourself to go more fully inwards. If you have mobility issues please contact me prior to booking as the studio space is upstairs. If you prefer to rest on a chair for the practice, rather than lying on a yoga mat, get in touch and I will see what we can do for you.
